Selini for the ancient Greeks was the mysterious, sweet and charming goddess of the moon, the night and the months. She was sister of Helios and Eos (Dawn). He was white and shiny silver face and long hair. At night he came driving his chariot, and when it was full moon bathed in the ocean waters. Appeared in the representations of the Eleusinian Mysteries holds lit torch. They worshiped throughout Greece (from Arcadia and Elis to the land of the Amazons) and was the symbol of purity. Also he worshiped as a goddess by many peoples around the world.
